  • Camp High Rocks, a private boys camp in Western North Carolina, has an assistant director opening for it's summer mountain biking program. Candidate should have extensive experience with mountain biking, instruction, maintenance, and related outdoor skills.
  • Responsibilities: Help direct 4-5 mountain biking instructors. Instruct mountain biking skills, safety aspects, and appropriate use of bikes in the woods. Create lesson plans for the program. Lead biking trips on and off camp property, including occasional overnights.
  • Qualifications: At least 21 years of age. Experience leading a Mountain Biking program, clean driving record, Wilderness First Responder. Training can be offered for the right candidate.
  • Dates are May 26 -August 8, 2020.   • We are looking for a team of fun, active, and caring people who are willing to be creative, energetic, responsible, and patient as they lead by example. Counselors are at least 19 years of age or rising college sophomore, with a strong interest in working with children.
  • Male counselors live in a cabin with 5 to 7 boys, ages 7-16. Female staff have additional duties in lieu of cabin coverage. We act not only as teachers, but as friends, role models, and at times parents.

We need people who enjoy working and living with children and have skills in: backpacking, climbing, mountain biking, whitewater boating, sailing, horseback riding, swimming, environmental education, tennis and arts and crafts.
  • Everyone who works at Mondamin has three basic responsibilities: Teaching skills and leading trips in an outdoor activity. Working directly with kids as a counselor, advisor, and advocate. And participation and influence as a member of the camp community.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at a college or university (or equivalent). Should have experience in and be willing to teach one or more of our activities (some training provided).

  • Instructors lead activities that include backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, caving, canoeing, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, ice climbing, ziplining, cooking, orienteering
  • The six-person instructor team works closely together to coordinate all aspects of the trip, including instruction in all outdoor activities, risk management, managing group dynamics, menu planning, purchasing food, laundry, transportation, coordinating with outfitters, maintaining equipment and handling medical issues.

  • We are looking for outdoor professionals to lead a variety of outdoor activities at CCB. We offer half day, full day, over night and multi night expeditions for all aged campers. Help us inspire and coach the next generation of ourdoor professionals!
  • Training begins May 3rd with a heavily discounted WFR course. Staff then participate in activity specific training until May 30th-receiving certificates and qualifications for all courses sat.
